Don’t Get Email Overwhelmed: Your Inbox

email overwhelemed

Your In-box

Getting overwhelmed by e-mail?  Do you have 100+ unread among all the read emails? Don’t get “Email Overwhelmed”!

You can de-clutter and get more done in your day with these four tips:

  1. Empty your in-box often. Use “Follow Up” and “Hold” labels in Gmail, and flag / completed or folders if you’re in Outlook, to quickly sort e-mails you can’t respond to right away.
  • Use the Two-Minute Rule: if it will take more than two minutes to respond to, sort it for later.
  • Respond quickly. This sets you apart in a world where most people are drowning in e-mail. Often, a quick reply such as “Got your note, will get back to you by end of day Tuesday” is all you need. Pair this with time blocks for knocking out batches of replies for massive productivity.
  • We all like getting certain advertising emails, set rules in outlook and Gmail for these to get sorted immediately into folders, keeping your inbox cleaner, and storing them you’re your pleasure reads later 🙂

Use the tips above to help prevent the Email Overwhelmed feeling and feel free to add your tips and options below and we might add them to the next edition of “Email Overwhelmed” 🙂
